Blue Cart, Recycling
Clean paper, cardboard (flattened), glass bottles and jars, metal cans, and rigid plastics. Rinse containers and keep them loose, no plastic bags in the recycling cart.
Green Cart, Organics
Food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard trimmings. California requires organics to be separated from trash, so use the green cart for compostables.
Black Cart, Trash
Only what can't be recycled or composted. When in doubt, check CR&R's guidance rather than 'wish-cycling' items into the blue cart.
Never in the Carts
Electronics (e-waste), batteries, paint and chemicals, and large appliances don't belong in any cart. We can recycle your e-waste, mattresses and appliances the right way.
